22 weeks!

We went for our second sono today bc he wasn't able to get a good reading on his little heart the first time. But everything looks great! We are so relieved. He is 1 lb 4oz right now. Just a little thing. Once again, I couldn't keep from smiling all day. Seeing him on that screen just makes me want him here NOW! He's already just so yummy and I haven't even held him. My heart melts everytime I think of that first moment I get to meet him. Then I think about seeing Markus with him for the first time and I get even weepier. What a precious and eternal thought.

look at those sexy pants...poor markus!

Sweet Inspiration

My dear friend (and roommate at Baylor) Jennifer Maddox finally graduated after 19 years of diligently working on her degree. Her story is such an inspiration to us all. We could all learn from her persistence and will to finish. I am so proud of you girl! You speak volumns to those of us who want to just give up and throw in the towel. What an example you are giving your precious kiddos!

Names, Names, Names

We are having the hardest time with naming this little guy. If you have any ideas....please throw them our way. I know it will just hit us and we will be like..."that's it!" I never knew this would be so hard.

The little wiggle worm!

Well, I'm finally feeling him move. I felt him for the first time in Hawaii. It was surreal. He was jumping around like crazy and my belly was moving for about an hour. We both got to feel him move around. That was a cool moment for us. He's real!!! haha! I haven't had that crazy episode again, but he jumps around all the time. He's punching me right now as I write this.

My first Mother's Day - 21 weeks

Well, I don't know if it is officially my first mother's day, but I will say that it kind of felt like it. It was really kind of cool. Markus got me the sweetest mommy-to-be Mother's Day Card. It was weird spending it with Mom knowing that in a few months I will be one myself. It's always been about her on Mother's day but today just felt very different. Sweet day today!

Hang loose Hawaii!

We just got back from our 2 week honeymoon/last get away before our lives are turned upside down :-). It was just what we needed. You know when you dream of your honeymoon when you are a kid...the picture of you big fat and pregnant is not in that picture. haha! But, I learned something on this trip. I learned that everything in life isn't always cut and dried. I also learned that we as a family do everything different....our whole history has been backwards and it is just who we are. I wouldn't trade it for anything. I enjoyed it being the '3 of us'. It had more meaning, more to look forward to, it made us really stop and just enjoy the time we had together. I learned how much I do love my husband and how I am looking so forward to cradling our little boy in my arms for the first time. I also learned that we need to make time for vacations!!! Sooo needed.

We spent 4 days in Oahu (saw some movie stars at our hotel...kind of fun) and it was just perfect. Then we went to Maui for the rest of the time. It took us awhile to just wind down and 'be'. But we figured out that part real quick. Went snorkling, hiking, golfing, shopping, surfing (unfortunatlely only MJ got the thrills of that), beach laying and the most fun of all...ate, ate, ate. I kind of let go of my pregnancy diet...but who cares. It was hawaii!

It's a BOY!!

Well, we found out before our trip that we are having a little boy. I can't believe it. Markus called it, too. He just had this feeling. We went to get our Sonogram the day before we left for Hawaii. It was truly the most amazing moment when we saw him wiggling around. She didn't even have to tell us what it was....it was SO obvious. He was showing off Big time! I screamed out, "It's a boy!" with such joy. It was just such a sweet moment between Markus and I. Mom came in immediately after and she got to see him in full form. Then we got to see all of him...those 15 mins I could relive over and over again. We had the biggest smile on our faces all day long. It was a great way to start our honeymoon. It felt like a family vacation bc now we could talk to him and refer to him as a real person. What an amazing miracle we are getting to experience right before our eyes.

He did say that he wasn't able to get a good reading on his heart so we have to go back in a month for another sono. I am believing that everything is just fine, so no worries on this end.
