4 Months Old!!
Today Isaiah is 4 months old. We can hardly believe it! It is hard to imagine that only 4 months ago I was still pregnant, but at the same time I look at how much he has grown and soooo much change has gone on in such a short time. It's a lifetime for Isaiah but just a moment in time for us. He is becoming soooo much fun! He has now reached the major milestones that a 4 mth old reaches...he laughs, rolls over (well, sort of with a little help from mom!), he is sooo aware of his surroundings, loves loves his fingers and can't get enough of them, he's losing his hair (to his mom's dismay), he is trying to sit up, he screams and then realizes he likes the sound so he does it again but even louder, and did I mention that he laughs...his laugh is the best thing ever!! Of course I could write all day long about the many little funny things that he does and is learning, but I don't want to bore you. All you really want are some pictures. So here are a few from the little fella as of late.

Big Bed
About a week ago we moved Isaiah to his big crib. He had been sleeping in his little bed in our room. He was using a bassinet that is 67 years old of which 3 generations have used...my mom, myself, and now Isaiah. What a sweet thought. It was an easy thing to get used to. He slept so soundly and peacefully next to our bed. It was so obvious that he felt safe in there and quite cozy as well. For 4 months it was our routine. It worked. We all got lots of sleep. He slept up to 9 hours at a time (not every night!). I slept sound bc he was right next to me. I would wake up from time to time (as all moms do) and would do the usual 'check' to make sure he was breathing, etc. I guess that is a rite of passage for a mom.
He's always been a good sleeper at night which has been such a blessing. He would go down easy and I would only have to feed him once during the night. The first time he slept over 6 hours he was around 5 weeks old. I thought that we had hit the jackpot! Could we really have one of THOSE babies? That is what we thought until recently.
We (really it was just me) kept putting off moving him to his big bed. I just loved having him right next to me for so many reasons. But it was time. After the holidays we decided to shake things up. We finally put him in his room in his big bed. I am sleeping in there with him too. The first night wasn't tooo bad. But then the second, the third, the fourth, the fifth, etc...not so much fun! It was like someone had stolen our baby and given us a new cranky one. Of course I beat myself up thinking it's all my fault...we should have put him in there sooner, bla bla bla bla. My heart has been broken now for the last week because he just doesn't seem to like this new system we got going on here. He has a hard time going down AND waking up every 3 hours. Crazy. Markus and I both have commented that our time was due so now we are finally experiencing the sleepless nights.
I will say that the last few nights have been better thankfully. I guess it will take some getting used to on all fronts. I am learning some patience through all of this!! It is definitely a lesson that I so need to learn.

Isaiah's Hiney is Going Green...
When I was pregnant I researched the whole idea of cloth diapering...the good, the bad and the ugly. What I found out was the good so outweighs the bad. I really wanted to go that route with Isaiah but wanted to wait til he got a little older. I had been putting it off because it is a big expense upfront. But It will save us thousands in the end so it is so worth it. Also, disposables are just so convenient. But then yesterday I looked at this big trash bag of our disposables and I just thought about how horrible they are to our environment and I realized it was time for me to make the plunge. So I went and bought him 3 Bum Genius 3.0. There website is...www.bumgenius.com/one-size.php They are just so darn cute!! Cloth Diapering ain't what it used to be! They truly are built just like disposables but with inserts that do the absorbtion. It's really incredible. They are a little bulky, but we are saving our wallets and our environment. Way to go Isaiah for doing your part!!

Family Photos
We had some family pics taken of us when Isaiah was a month old. Lauren Laursen (www.laurenlarsen.com) is the wonderful artist who took them. She is such a brilliant photographer. She did our wedding and we just loved her work, so we wanted her to capture little Isaiah. If you go to her website she has some pics of us in her wedding section. We just love her! What was so cool was that she took these pics of us exactly 1 year after our wedding. Crazy what happens in a year! Thanks Lauren for squeezing us in!

Happy New Year!!!
I can't believe that it is already 2009. This past year has probably had the most change in our lives. I can't believe that the pregnancy is over and Isaiah is here amongst us. Very surreal. This year will be so fun with him...watching him grow and change. He has already gone through so much change, but next Christmas we will have a 1 year old running all over the place!
I hope you have many wonderful adventures this year. We plan on it!

Christmas 2008!
Isaiah turned 3 months old on Christmas Eve. What a fun time it was this year. Christmas with a baby sure makes things so very special...but hard to get anything done!! I was so lucky to get any gifts done this year. I managed to get a few together. Markus's mom is in town and she had never met Isaiah. It has been so much fun having her here and watching the two of them play.
We had our traditional Fondue on Christmas Eve and then Christmas day was at Mom's. She put on a beautiful spread even though she was very sick with the shingles. Poor thing...the stress of the marathon she ran in took it's toll on her.
I reflected back on last year and realized that I was pregnant during Christmas and didn't know it. If I had known then what I know now...haha! It's amazing how time flies and how things change in just a years time. Unbelievable. But so precious.
Here are some pics of our time together this year....
