Our little Hula Princesses

We got our nieces these hula outfits when we were in Hawaii. How cute are they?

Things I thought I would never own...

These are for Markus....

We need more sporty things...but this is just a little collection so far!

Things of old...

I am very nostalgic. I love holding onto items that tell a story and leaves a legacy. Now that I am having a family of my own, I am starting to collect wonderful family heirlooms that are priceless in my mind. For my wedding, my aunt and uncle built me a bench out of wood from both of my grandmother's things. It is beautiful and has this amazing story behind it.

Now that I am having a baby, I have received a few other things that are pieces I will always cherish. My dad refinished and reupholstered the rocking chair that my Granny rocked him in and Mom rocked me in as well. So we know it's at least 67 years old. He did such a beautiful job with the it. It will be a cherished and charming addition to the nursery. Thanks Dad! You done good! I'm very honored that you would spend the time and effort to do this for us!

Notice the perfection in his work. The house could crash in, but this chair would still remain intact!! I get my perfectionism from him I guess.

It's just so cute. I can't wait to rock him in it!

Mom has held onto her bassinett that my MeeMaw used for her and then once again Brent and I used when we were babies as well. So, once again we have at least 3 generations and roughly 67 years old. It is such a cool little bassinett. She had bedding made to fit it. It's gorgeous and will be so uselful in the beginning. I love it Mom!

You can just see the story written all over this bassinet. It has lots of stories to tell!

At some point, there will be a sweet little baby laying in there...can't wait!

Mom had some of my artwork that I did as a child framed. Too cute and a great idea Mom!

This owl watercolor I did brings back some memories. I painted it in the 2nd grade in Mrs. Pendland's art class (where I met my oldest friend in the world...miss Carrie Jenkins). If I remember correctly, I painted this for the county fair and won some awards.

Mom also died some of my old sandals that I wore as a baby. How cute are they??

Progress is being made FINALLY

We have had a hard time getting the nursery together. I just have had a hard time with no car and just making any decisions. But we are finally moving in the right direction. I will show you the progress so far. We aren't completely done, but hopefully soon we will be. We dont have much time left!

Our front guest room is now going to be the nursery. It was kind of our junk room as well, so we had to rearrange the whole house it seemed to get everything in its place.

The painting begins....

Markus changed out the light fixture to be more our style. I think it's cute.

The crib and dresser finally arrive...so here we go!

The room is starting to fill up now...but still in complete chaos. We still have to rearrange and put the finishing touches on it! So, stay tuned!

His little closet is filling up!

A display of some of his things he's gotten. We have gotten some duplicates as you can see!

It's Baby Shower Time!!!

I have had a couple of showers and have gotten some great things for the baby. Obviously we had nothing, so it has been nice to see his little nursery pile up with stuff.

My family gave me one at our Reunion a few weeks ago. It was so much fun!

Then this past weekend my girlfriends gave me one. I got a lot of wonderful things! I'm 36 weeks here and my face is so puffy I can barely see. haha! I am brave putting these pictures on here!

Dad rubbing my belly! Too cute!

This picture cracks me up. I am sitting next to my pregnant friend Dez who is due less than a week behind me. I don't know if you can notice how tiny she is. I am HUGE!!!
